Molybdates

Wulfenite

Wulfenite is a lead molybdate that generally forms masses, crusts and granular and tabular aggregates of yellow and red-orange crystals. Heavy, it melts easily but is not particularly soluble in cold acids.

The most common zones of formation are the oxidation zones of lead deposits.

Its most common uses are for collecting and, secondarily, for the extraction of molybdenum.
