Privacy and copyright
This site is a freely accessible photographic archive. It uses no cookies, does not track visitors and processes no personal data beyond what is strictly necessary for the technical operation of the server. The photographs and texts are protected by copyright.
Data controller
inforweb.ch (Switzerland) — info@inforweb.ch
What data is processed
When a page is requested, the server automatically records some technical information in its log files: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, outcome of the request, type of browser and operating system, and the referring page, if any.
This data is used solely to ensure the operation and security of the site (error diagnosis, protection against abuse). It is not cross-referenced with other sources or used to profile visitors, and it is deleted automatically after a limited period. For visitors from the European Union, the legal basis is the legitimate interest in the secure operation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Hosting
The site is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, on servers located in Switzerland. Infomaniak processes the log data on behalf of the controller and does not use it for its own purposes.
Cookies and browser storage
The site does not install any cookies, either its own or third-party ones, and does not write anything to the browser's storage. This is why no consent banner is shown: there is nothing to accept or refuse.
No third-party services
The site does not use analytics tools, advertising, social buttons, or embedded maps or videos. The fonts are hosted directly on the site, without recourse to external services.
The site's internal search works in the browser: the words searched for are neither sent nor recorded. The browser downloads the necessary parts of the index from the site itself, and the matching takes place on the visitor's device.
Some pages contain links to external sites; once you leave this site, the privacy rules of the sites visited apply.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors from the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can ask which data concern you, request their rectification or erasure, or object to their processing, by writing to info@inforweb.ch.
You can also contact a supervisory authority: in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the European Union, the authority of your country of residence (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
Copyright
The photographs published on this site are by Bruno Balestrini unless otherwise stated on the page or record. The rights to his photographs belong to his heirs. All rights reserved.
The texts belong to the authors named on the respective pages, in particular the contributors to the editorial team of the original thais.it site. Photographs credited to other photographers, or supplied by institutions and owners (for example in the Great Gardens itinerary), remain the property of their respective rights holders.
The English, French, Spanish and Portuguese versions were translated from Italian with the help of artificial intelligence. In case of doubt, the Italian text prevails.
Permitted use
You may browse the site, print or save individual pages for personal, study or research use, and quote short extracts with the source: author, title, brunobalestrini.org and the page address. Each record offers a model in its “How to cite” box. The rights of quotation provided by law remain unaffected (Art. 25 of the Swiss Copyright Act, Art. 70 of Italian Law No. 633/1941).
Any other reproduction, in particular publishing the photographs on other websites, in print or for commercial purposes, requires prior written permission. Requests should be sent to info@inforweb.ch.
Works and cultural heritage reproduced
Many photographs show works and monuments held in museums, churches and collections. For some twentieth-century works, the rights of the artists or their successors may still apply. In Italy, reproducing public cultural heritage for commercial purposes may also require permission from the institution that holds it (Arts. 107-108 of the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape). Anyone wishing to reuse an image should check these points as well.
