Tacca Pietro
The Four Moors
Giambologna's favorite pupil could not forget the naturalistic example of the Flemish when he set about adorning with exotic images the base of Giovanni Bandini's colossal statue of the Grand Duke Ferdinand I. His subtle analysis of reality, of which Baldinucci gives a pleasant account, is removed from any suggestion of superficial anecdote or academic bravura.
