Funerary Monument of Benedict XI

The tomb scheme devised by Arnolfo enjoyed enormous success thanks to the perfect integration between the architectural structure, simple and functional, and the descriptive element; one of the happiest examples of it is this monument, which the most recent criticism attributes to the anonymous Sienese sculptor responsible for the finest reliefs on the central piers of Orvieto Cathedral.
