Thirst

A formidable fabulist and storyteller, Martini did not hesitate to transfer to stone his eloquent mimetic powers of narration. Anecdotal detail is always transfigured to a higher level of meaning and expression. Each time the material, the specific nature of which is always observed, is explored to the limit of its possibilities. His works, although rooted in the immediacy of life, thus rise to the level of myth, to symbolic detachment.
