Rosa Ercole
Portrait of a Young Girl
The emphasis on truth assumed in other sculptors a flavor vaguely Romantic more than Realist. Rosa had the opportunity to erect famous commemorative monuments, such as the Cairoli Monument on the Pincio, and the one to Victor Emmanuel II in the Piazza del Duomo in Milan. Neither work is lacking in resources, but his art reveals itself best in his smaller sculptures, especially his portraits.
