Martini Arturo
Head of a Girl
The sinuous antique grace which, in a symbolist and aestheticizing context, had bent the Girl Filled with Love to a refined decorativeness, almost to a light cultural irony, is in the master’s last works wholly reabsorbed into a functional and moving simplicity of expression: but the linearity of the composition does not veil the exquisite refinement of the modelling.
