Interior Capital

This work is related to the School of Pavia by a taste for the monstrous which here has an explicit satirical meaning. But it differs from works of Pavia, or even of Como, by its more naturalistic character, its simplicity of representation, its narrative immediacy, and indifference to studied symmetrical rhythms - in short, by a geniality that already approaches the climate of Antelami.
