Fidelity of Capua ("Capua Fidelis")
Now on the threshold of the Gothic, like the allegorical head in Ravello, this work expresses even better than that one the nostalgia for classicism, not as a merely formal revival but as a dreamlike evocation. The corrosive work of time has in this case added to the charm of the sculpture, sensitising its features as if through a veil of tears.
