Maestro Pugliese Abruzzese
The Archangel Michael and the Dragon
A provincial work that conceals under its rich draperies a fundamental plastic deficiency. It does not, however, lack rhythm of composition and its own feeling for the stone. It has been attributed to craftsmen active between Apulia and the Abruzzi, since it shows mixed characteristics of the art of the two regions.
