The Prophet Jeremiah

The prophet - which some believe to be of French inspiration without the intervention of Wiligelmo - holds one's attention by the abstract and ascetic expression of the motionless face, and by the thin, rigid body that becomes almost two-dimensional as it slips away at the bottom.
