Traditio Legis

The easy and relaxed way in which these types of Carolingian schools were proposed leaves one to suppose that we are dealing with a “fake” or at least a reconstruction in the 12th century to demonstrate that Romanesque sculpture, despite the virulence with which it imposed itself, did not immediately and totally sweep away what was left of the courtly schools.
