Jewish Child
The forms, rather than being immersed in space, connect with it, in an unlimited cosmic sense, through a dynamism that cannot be explained but only felt by analogy with the strong mysterious mobility of the spirit. This dynamic continuity of form, space, and life can only be adequately, expressed by light - not light as a mechanical means of discovery, a mere accessory that serves to unveil an image already defined and complete in itself, but as the fundamental element of poetic vision. This means, in a sculptor's terms, a controlled, preestablished light, that he himself tried patiently to document in a detailed series of photographs that constitute indispensable material for the study and understanding of his work.
