Adam and Eve
At the beginning of the Romanesque period, sculpture returns to a physical brutality, devoid of any feeling for decoration or sensuous charm, which seems the product of an uncultivated milieu incapable of expressing itself with decorum. But precisely this decisive renunciation of the superficial charms of the Late Antique allows sculpture once again to achieve suitable plastic and figurative values.
