Tomb of Mary of Hungary
Like that of Catherine of Austria, Queen Mary's tomb can be considered almost entirely autograph, the assistants' intervention being limited to secondary parts. Here Tino sets his seal on the last, exemplary reworking of Arnolfo's Orvieto scheme, enriching it to the limits of refinement without sacrificing anything of the monumental grandeur of the prototype: beyond this daring, supremely elegant balance there will be the sumptuous, cumbersome funerary machines with which Tino's followers would try to satisfy the ambitions of the Angevin and Aragonese petty lords in almost all the southern provinces.
